Simplified Francis Hydroturbine

•The draft tube (lowest part) is a diverging tube below the runner of the turbine. It is where water is discharged from the turbine. This simplified model shows a constant diameter.
​
•The shape of the turbine in this model is simplified based on pictures of a Francis turbine.
​
•The spiral casing is supposed to decrease in diameter to conserve kinetic energy. Its diameter is constant here for simplification purposes.
